Volunteer Roles – Event Manager

Volunteer Event Manager

In order to raise awareness of our work we attend a number of outreach events across the county, such as summer fetes and community fairs.

As the Volunteer Event Manager you will act as the lead volunteer at these events.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Setting up the SCYP stall at the event with games and publicity materials (provided)
- Managing a small team of events volunteers on the stall
- Interacting with members of the public, telling them about the charity and encouraging them to volunteer
Events run throughout the year, but are most frequent during the Summer and around Christmas.
Events are usually held on evenings and weekends. The number of events you assist at is up to you.

Benefits you will receive:
- Experience in events, outreach and public engagement
- A full briefing from our CEO on the work of the charity and how to engage with members of the public
- Travel expenses reimbursed
- DBS check
- Giving back to the local community

Qualities that make a successful Volunteer Event Planner/Manager:
- Organised
- Dedicated
- Passionate about events and supporting young people
- A car would be ideal as you will need to be able to transport publicity materials etc. to the event
